Dix is a village in Jefferson County, Illinois, United States. The population was 494 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Mount Vernon Micropolitan Statistical Area. ==Geography== Dix is located at (38.440676, -88.942463). According to the 2010 census, Dix has a total area of , of which (or 99.52%) is land and (or 0.48%) is water.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=G001 - Geographic Identifiers - 2010 Census Summary File 1 )〕 Dix is located on high ground that marks the boundary between the Big Muddy River and its tributary, Casey Creek. Today Dix is an exit on Interstate 57, a major north/south roadway.
